Follow Up Boss Consultant · Washington, DC
Follow Up Boss, built around how your team actually sells.
Most Follow Up Boss help stops at configuration — someone sets up your stages and hands it back. The leads still fall through. The gap is almost never the software; it's that nobody designed the operation the software is supposed to run.
I'm an operations leader with 13+ years inside DC and Northern Virginia real estate teams. I've migrated a team off Salesforce onto Follow Up Boss, built the routing and automation behind it, integrated FUB with RealScout, IDX/MLS and event platforms, and built the dashboards leadership uses to see whether any of it is working.
What I do
CRM migration
Moving to Follow Up Boss from Salesforce, or from a CRM nobody trusts. Phased rollout, field mapping, deduplication, and validation so the data is still worth something on the other side.
Pipeline & lead routing
Stages that match how your team really works, and routing rules that put each lead in front of the right agent fast enough to matter.
Action plans & smart lists
Follow-up sequences and smart-list architecture that keep agents working the right leads without being told to.
Integrations
Connecting FUB to the rest of your stack — RealScout, IDX/MLS, event and lead sources, back-office tools — using the API when the native integration isn't enough.
Reporting leadership uses
Conversion, source performance, agent accountability, and goal pacing — in dashboards that answer a question rather than just displaying numbers.
Training & adoption
The part that decides whether any of the above survives. Role-specific training, documented SOPs, and onboarding that makes a new agent productive without leadership in the loop.

Kay Houghton & Associates · 2020–2024
Salesforce → Follow Up Boss migration
Led the full CRM migration off Salesforce onto Follow Up Boss as Chief Operations & Marketing Officer — phased rollout, team training, RealScout integration, and lead-routing automations. I had previously owned and administered the team's Salesforce environment as backend admin and developer, so the migration was designed by someone who knew exactly what was being left behind.
Marketing automation · lead capture
Closed-loop lead capture from live events
Built an automated lead-capture engine for marketing events: registrations flow into Follow Up Boss through the API, get tagged and routed to the right agent, and trigger an immediate SMS notification — so an event lead is worked while they still remember attending.
One Residential Real Estate (KW Metro Center) · 2025–2026
CRM data-integrity remediation
Found and remediated a defect that had inflated a production CRM table to 99.7% duplicates — 6.9M records down to 21K. Shipped a null-safe fix, a controlled cleanup, and an automated drift watchdog so it couldn't silently return. Reporting is only as trustworthy as the records underneath it.
One Residential Real Estate (KW Metro Center) · 2025–2026
ONE Platform — custom brokerage CRM layer
Architected and built a custom React/Vite brokerage platform (oneres.app) integrating Follow Up Boss, IDX/MLS, LLM-powered workflows, automated marketing-asset generation, and 15+ internal tools — for a RealTrends top team ranked #4 in Virginia by 2025 sales.
Independent · 2024–2025
FUB implementations for agents and teams
Implemented Follow Up Boss and Airtable CRM systems with client-lifecycle automation for a mix of agent and team clients — closing handoff gaps and making reporting reliable enough to act on.
Questions I get asked
Do you only work with Follow Up Boss?
It's where I do most of my work, but I've administered Salesforce as a backend admin and developer, implemented GoHighLevel, and built systems on Airtable. That matters more than it sounds — knowing what a migration is leaving behind is half of doing one well.
We already have FUB set up. Is there anything for you to do?
Usually yes, and usually not where people expect. Most teams have a working FUB and a broken operation around it — leads routed to agents who don't work them, action plans nobody finished, smart lists that made sense two years ago, and reporting that can't answer whether any of it converts. That's the work.
Can you migrate us off Salesforce?
Yes — I've done exactly that migration, including phased rollout, training, RealScout integration, and the lead-routing automations on the other side. The risk in a CRM migration is rarely moving the records; it's discovering afterward which processes quietly depended on the old system.
Do you build custom integrations?
Yes. When FUB's native integrations don't cover it, I build against the API — for example an event-registration pipeline that creates and tags leads in FUB, routes them, and fires an SMS alert to the assigned agent automatically.
What areas do you work in?
I'm based in Washington, DC, and I take work across the greater capital region — the District, Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax and Loudoun, and the Maryland suburbs from Bethesda and Chevy Chase to Silver Spring and Rockville. My own 13+ years were spent inside DC and Northern Virginia teams, so the market context is first-hand rather than researched: I know how a DMV pipeline actually behaves, where the leads come from, and which handoffs quietly break. CRM work travels well, so I take engagements outside the region too.
What does an engagement look like?
It starts with a look at your current setup and where leads are actually being lost — routing, follow-up, data quality, reporting. From there the scope depends on what's broken. Some teams need a migration; more often they need the operating system around a CRM they already own.
What does it cost?
It depends on the size of your team and the state of your current setup, so I quote per engagement rather than publishing a rate card. Email me with what you're running and roughly how many leads a month, and I'll tell you what I'd actually do about it.
